Daily Five: College Classes for HS Kids, Lots of Sun and Walking the Montville Road Bridge

Your Five is chock full today, Tuesday, April 2

 

1. Expect lots of sun, chilly breezes and a high temp of 44 today.

2. Inland Wetlands has a site walk tonight at the Montville Road Bridge. Patch will be there and report back to you.

3. Reps from the Three Rivers Middle College Magnet School will be on hand at Montville High School today at 10:30 in the Career Resource Center to talk to students entering grade 11 and 12 in the fall of 2013, who are interested in the dual enrollment program which allows students to complete high school graduation requirements while having the opportunity to take free college classes at the Three Rivers Community College campus.  Students have access to all facilities at the college including the cafeteria, fitness center, library, club and activities.

4. A forum on genetically modified food (GMO) labeling is slated for tonight and features speakers including Former Congressman Rob Simmons, Sen. Cathy Osten, and Rep. Tim Bowles.

5. It’s clinic day at the Senior Center for blood pressure screening, blood sugar testing and other services. Services are free though donations are welcomed. Clinic opens at 9 a.m.
