Daily Five: Basketball to Zumba, Another Beautiful Day, and One Act Plays

1. Another beautiful day today with sun and blue skies, dry and breezy, although it will likely be a tad warmer than Wednesday with temps in the low 80s. Enjoy! 

2. Mohegan Elementary School holds its open house today beginning at 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. This should be a must-go for Mohegan parents if you’d like to meet staff. Plus, the school is just awesome! 

3. How cool is this? The Montville Rotary will be staging an evening of one-act plays! This is a first; I’ve covered Rotary clubs from Florida to Rhode Island and have never seen any dabble in the performing arts like this. Awesome! The ‘Evening of Humorous One Act Plays’ is slated for Sept. 28 at the Montville Polish Club. The night of theater will start off with cocktails and socializing, segue into a silent auction, followed by dinner and then curtain for the performance at 7:45. Sounds like a wonderful evening.

4. Letting you know now since the big holiday weekend is nearly upon us. A ‘very important meeting’ of the Montville Little League is set for Based on their announcement, the league will be electing the 2013 Board of Directors and there are ‘vacant positions need to be filled in order to ensure a smooth transition to the new season.” Also, the league has four manager positions open in the Majors Baseball Division. And if you are interested in those positions, a Letter of Intent to Coach should be received by the meeting date. Letters can be sent to John Guetens at theguetens4@yahoo.com.
