1. It will be party sunny today and reach a balmy 65 degrees. Not bad.
2. A woman that recently lost her husband dropped off some VHS tapes to the recycle shed at the transfer station Saturday. But it turns out, some are family movies that feature her husband. She is devastated. We’re looking to get them returned to her so if you have any information, let the folks know at the transfer station. They’ll take it from there.
3. Make sure to check out the Veterans Day ceremony story and video/pictures. And even more importantly, say thank you to a veteran today.
4. We are 10 days away from Thanksgiving! Can you believe it? Please make sure, if you haven’t already, to donate some canned goods at the Senior Center bound for food baskets for those in Montville that are in need.
5. Calendar alert: The Chesterfield Fire Company Open House, Toy Drive and Holiday Vendor Fair is Nov. 18 from 12 to 5 p.m. More than 25 vendors offering lots of items for holiday gift shopping and the open house includes the smoke house, free blood pressure checks, a scavenger hunt and free giveaways for the kids plus free smoke detectors & batteries (while supplies last).
