Daily Five: Awesome Sportsmanship, Super Stephanie and CAPT This Week

Your Five is full!

1. High today near 43 with sun and clouds.

2. Looking at some great stories of the past few days there are two that are so awesome. The first is an awesome win by Montville Girls Basketball – they’re in the quarterfinals in the CIAC tournament.  And what’s so great about this story is the comment left by the parent of a player on the opposing, and losing, team – Trinity Catholic:  “I was humbled by the story my daughter told where your team came into our locker room after the game and asked the starters to come over for hugs. It wasn't just that moment, they played hard and fair the entire game. It was a basketball game for the record books. They should be commended for their sportsmanship.” So proud of these girls!

3. The other awesome story you may have missed this weekend about Stephanie Shabanowitz of Oakdale who was chosen as a patient-advocate for the American Kidney Fund and she’ll travel to Capitol Hill this week to talk with Congressional leaders. Her story is amazing and inspiring so in case you missed it …

4. Public Safety Commission meets today at 5:30 at the new pubic safety building. http://www.townofmontville.org/Events/eventView.asp?EventID=2617
