Daily Five: Awesome Anthony Occhialini, Arctic Air and Holiday Weekend

1. Artic air! Baby, it’s cold outside! Sunny but temps won’t get above the 20s today. The weekend looks milder with lots of sun and highs in the mid-40s.

2.  This is a another one of those awesome vendor events Rhonda DiMaggio pulls together; a great opportunity to for vendors to do a brisk business while making sure that proceeds from certain sales (like concession, raffle tickets, table fees and the like) go to a specific group or charity. IN this case, the Teacher’s Relief Fund. Vendors, food, raffle tickets, Rolling Tomato, Shannon’s Jammin’ Jams, Robert Currier and DJ Jon Eastman make it an event! Mohegan Fire Company at 12 p.m. Saturday. 

3. Half day of school today and no school Monday in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day; have a great weekend!

4. We heard that the awesome New York-based group Guardians of Rescue delivered a “generous dog and cat food donation” last week. Montville Animal Control said the donations “will go a long way to help the animals in this area.”
