Daily 5: The Dino Splashpad Is Coming!

1. Happy Friday! There’s a chance of showers and thunderstorms today, though the day is expected to be mostly cloudy, with a high near 73. There’s a chance of showers this evening. The Memorial Day weekend weather promises to be mostly clear, even sunny!

2. Christmas is seven months from today!

3. New England’s largest splashpad is set to open this weekend, right here in Montville! That’s right, the Dinosaur Place at Nature’s Art is going to be home to a dino-themed water park, including dueling tyrannosaurus rex and velociraptor water cannons, the spraying triceratops loop and more! .

4. There’s some dueling information about the annual Pappy’s Run motorcycle rally this year. What appears to be the official Pappy’s Run site says that because of the high cost of police support, and the lack of sponsors, there will be no road run this year. There will be a rally in Pappy’s honor at the Montville Polish Club, and a chicken barbeque, with vendors, a raffle, a cash bar and music by Brother Earl. There will even be a big breakfast to start the day, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

However, the Wolfpack Motorcycle Club says it is holding a run on Sunday. This  starts at 456 Seymour St., in Stratford, at 9 a.m., and finishes at the Comstock Ceremony on Depot St. at noon. If you have more information, please add it to the comment box at the bottom of this story!
