Beyond the School Desk: Did You Know...?

All students at Montville High School have access to Naviance Family Connection, which is a comprehensive website students can use to help make plans about courses, colleges, and careers.

Naviance Family Connection  is linked with Naviance Succeed™, a service that the MHS Counseling Office uses to track and analyze data about college and career plans, so it provides up-to-date information that’s specific to our school.

Naviance Family Connection will allow you to:

• Get involved in the planning and advising process – Build a resume, complete online surveys, and manage timelines and deadlines for making decisions about colleges and careers
• Research colleges – Compare GPA, standardized test scores, and other statistics to actual historical data from our school for students who have applied and been admitted in the past
• Research careers – Research hundreds of careers and career clusters, and take career assessments like the Do What You Are test.
• Create plans for the future – Build course plans, create goals and to-dos, and complete tasks assigned to you by the school to better prepare yourself for your future college and career goals.
• Practice college placement tests:  Method Test Prep, available through Naviance is FREE online course that will help you improve your [SAT/ACT] test skills by building your math, reading, and writing skills.
  To access the Method Test Prep, log in to Naviance Family Connection.  You will then click the “test preparation” link on the left-hand side of the screen. You can use Method Test Prep independently or as a supplement to other SAT or ACT prep courses. 

Naviance Family Connection also lets us share information with you about upcoming meetings and events, over 300 local scholarship opportunities, and other resources for college and career information. You can also use the site to stay in communication with the counseling office.

All students are provided with a personal access code and instructions for accessing Naviance Family Connection. You will use that code to create your own Family Connection account.  

Log on and explore the site. 

NOTE:  Parents can access Naviance Family Connection by entering as a “Guest” and using “indians” as the password.
