Democrats Did Nothing to Stop It
Montville democrats did nothing to stop the Sex Offender facility from coming to town. They had the chance and ignored it.
Can you imagine what would have happened if the Republican/Independence Party didn’t win council majority in 2009?
It’s a fact that Mayor Jaskiewicz knew of the proposed sex offender facility as early as 2009. This document is available in the Town Clerk’s office. FOI records even show that Mayor Jaskiewicz even welcomed the facility at first! I find it extremely hard to believe the Council chairperson at the time, Candy Buebendorf, as well as other key Democrats, had not been informed, considering Mayor Jaskiewicz brags about how all the Democrats all got along like a bunch of sheep following their master.
They chose to ignore it then. What if that council was still in place, do you think they would have fought it like we did? In fact if the fight had started a year earlier, do you think the outcome could have been better? Considering that Governor Rell cut the money for the program in the late summer of 2009, this facility could have been stopped.

So what about integrity for the residents of Montville? Don’t we deserve a government that will protect and fight for us when danger is being introduced into our town? The Democrats failed to do this, not only on a local level but on a State level too.
The reality is that . Each will receive 3 months of “treatment” and then be released to their hometown or another location where they can live. That means other halfway houses owned by the non-profit running the facility. This non-profit owns rental properties in Norwich and New London.

Let’s put all the pieces together, Mayor Jaskiewicz and his Democrat crew (State and local officials) welcomed an experimental Sex Offender facility to come to Montville. They never warned a single citizen of this potential nightmare for the town. When the Democrats lost the majority on the Town Council, the Republican/Independence Councilors did everything possible to stop the facility. The final result of our actions is an MOU protecting the residents of Montville. Who would you rather have as your elected officials, a group of sheep that follow the Mayor’s lead, or individuals who will fight for what is best for Montville? You have the opportunity to make that decision on November 8.
