My passion for cooking comes from my Dad. I loved to watch him cook.  The way it smelled the colors and how he put love into every dish. It has been told that my father learned from his mother, a Southern woman with kindness in her heart and soul in her dishes. I remember my Grandma would make a basic pound cake with clear lemon frosting. A warm buttery moist lemony goodness filled my pallet. It was special to me that she would take the time to bake the cake because it would lead to all of my family sitting around her kitchen, eating, and telling stories.

In my senior year I was in a restaurant management class. In this class we had learned how to create menu, shop, cook, and serve.  In this class I found me love for cooking.  I learned that through culinary I could express myself.  The best part of this experience was when my dad would come down for lunch and sample my menu.  I remember thinking how proud he was of me.

Today my love of cooking comes in the form of expressing myself through food. I also learned that I love to sample and critique the different meals of my family and restaurants.  I plan on sampling the world of blogging and sharing with you different recipes that are an expression of me. I look forward to hearing your thoughts about food and life.
