Sandy Hinze Has Been in Business in Montville for Nearly 28 Years

If it's Thursday it must be time for a Montville small business feature! Today it's Sun-Sation Tanning and HD Golf.

Sandy Hinze has been in business in Montville for nearly 28 years. And at almost 70, she’s still going strong with her tanning and indoor golf business, Sun-Sation Tanning which features not just state-of-the-art tanning beds and stand-up tanning booths, but specialty air brush tans by Eric.

“It’s high tech tanning now,” she said. Hinze first opened her tanning business 22 years ago across from Montville Hardware, she said. She’s been at the Gristmill Plaza for the past 7 years.

Attached to the tanning salon, which features a Southern California vibe; tie-die and sun tanning products are for sale, is the Sun-Sation HD Golf range.

“Come in and perfect your golf swing using our most advanced golf swing analysis and club comparison,” she said. There are leagues and pin competitions as well.

And while she said she’s currently in the doldrums business-wise, she knows it will pick up.

“We’re slow now, this is that time of year, but we’ll be very busy in the winter,” she said, especially for people looking to get rid of a winter pallor and folks that miss the nice weather for golfing.

She is featuring a number of specials including a $10 a month tanning fee plus $5 per session and the indoor golf simulator is $15 per hour.

For more information, call 860-848-8707 or visit seven days a week at 1031 Gristmill Plaza in Uncasville.
