Back in October Montville Patch spend a wonderful hour at Pa’s Pizza doing a little research for a business feature story. And by research I mean sampling the sauce, soup and the cannoli’s …you get the idea.

“A pipe in the apartment upstairs from our building froze and burst and flooded the apartment upstairs in turn flooding our restaurant.  Just about every wall in the place is soaked including the entire ceiling and insulation in between,” Butzgy said. “There was about 3 inches of standing water …the fire department had to come to kill the power to ensure safety.”

Butzgy said several pieces of equipment were damaged in the flood and “just about the entire place needs to be gutted and repaired to ensure no mold grows, which means, unfortunately we are forced to close the business while the cleanup and rebuild happens. “

They also had to dump all their food.

Their big worry? Their customers

“It seems our phone systems and answering machine are not working properly and we need to get the word out somehow …we have to close but we’ll be back. Hopefully.”

Butzgy said that Pa's Pizza business “was great before this.”

“We were holding pretty steady and had big orders already placed for the Super Bowl.”

So for now, Pa’s is closed.
