Crystal Mall Announces Four New Stores Coming This Summer

Mall also provides its own answers to Patch’s questions.

Monday, the sent out a press release saying they are expecting four new stores to open in the mall this summer: Eblens, Toy Vault Inc, Education Works and Metro PCS.

Eblens is a store “focused on name brand urban clothing and footwear for the entire family” and is expected to open in August. Toy Vault Inc offers new and vintage toys and collectables and will also open in August.

The two other stores, Education Works and Metro PCS, are already open. The mall just finished

Patch wanted to do a fuller story on the mall, and was told to e-mail questions to a public relations firm in Boston, which would consult with mall officials and then get back to Patch. Here is our questions and the mall’s answers.

Questions For The Mall

Patch: Do you think the new renovation is the reason these new stores picked the mall, and will the renovation mean more stores in the mall?

Crystal Mall: Crystal Mall is always looking to attract new and exciting stores that our customers will enjoy. Our recent renovation has been well received by our customers and by our retailers.

Patch: I see have moved into the mall since the spring. Have any gone out of business in that time?

CM: With the addition of these new stores, Crystal Mall continues to maintain a fresh, exciting and contemporary retail mix.

Patch: Have you seen an overall increase of people coming to the mall since the renovation? Has it been temporary or has it been sustained, and if it has sustained, do you think it will continue?

CM: Customers have had extremely positive comments regarding the renovation. Our new amenities, including comfortable soft seating throughout the mall and new family restrooms and mother's lounge, are just a few of the things that our customers have been very pleased with. Coupled with the renovation, we continue a strong events schedule this summer including our Kidgits Summer Series, Back At It and great back to school shopping offers from our stores.

That is weird. Toy Vault has been there for at least a year and Education Works has been there since I moved to the area in 2007. Why are they announcing these?

It's also weird that mall officials didn't directly answer the questions posed to them.
