Get Out: Five Great Things To Do This Weekend

Fourth of July weekend is here! And as usual, we’re telling you to get out there and celebrate! And no, watching previews for the new Captain America movie on repeat doesn’t count. So deck yourself out in your finest red, white and blue—or at least your favorite Old Navy flag T-shirt—and get your Fourth on! 

1. GROTON SUBFEST

WHERE/WHEN: Friday through Sunday from 3 to 11 p.m. at the Naval Submarine Base in Groton.

WHY GO: Music, rides, entertainment, food…need more?

PRICING: $4 admission and $22 for an unlimited rides bracelet.

WHERE/WHEN: This weekend’s performances at The Goodspeed in East Haddam: Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 3 and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 and 6:30 p.m.

WHY GO: It’s opening weekend for the American musical! Show runs until Sept. 11.

PRICING: Tickets start at $31.50 each.

WHERE/WHEN: Monday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

WHY GO: Party like it’s 1876! The Seaport has it all with a dory race, civil war re-enactment, children’s parade, concert and more!

PRICING: Activities are included in museum admission.

WHERE/WHEN: Monday from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at the Nathan Lester House in Gales Ferry.

WHY GO: Enjoy lawn games, outdoor tours and activities and a concert by the Silver Cornet Band. Don’t forget to pack a picnic and lots of red, white and blue!

WHY GO: Live music, dance performances, live entertainment and a DJ!
