Frightfully Fun Halloween Happenings

We want to see photos of your Halloween fun--submit them to Patch!

Even if kicking back with a big bowl of candy corn and handing out Twix bars to the trick-or-treaters sounds like an ideal Halloween, we have some other ideas for you to consider. Before the hordes of ghosts, vampires and mini Charlie Sheen look-a-likes show up on your doorstep, we want you and your family to have some Halloween fun of your own! While carving pumpkins and munching on caramel apples at home are seasonal must-haves, we want you to hit the town for a little ghoulish excitement, too.   • Stop by any CVS on Sunday, Oct. 23 during regular store hours! Kids in costume will receive a free Halloween gift pack with any purchase.

  • Safe trick-or-treating for the kids! Be there—Tyl Middle School on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. Participating vehicles must register by Oct. 24.

  • Hop around your favorite casino bars! The fun begins at Todd English’s Tuscany on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 6 p.m.

  • Don’t miss Alcide on Halloween weekend! He’ll visit on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 9 p.m.

  • Prizes for hottest, scariest, funniest and best overall costumes! Party starts at 10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29 on the Tuscany Patio.

  • The cult classic is free, but seats are first-come first-served. Doors open at 10:45 and show starts at 11:45 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30.

  • Don’t miss Steve Elci at the Florence Griswold Museum! He’ll perform at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22.

  • Be sure to stop by Foxwoods on Friday, Oct. 28 and Saturday, Oct. 29 to catch Guinness World Record holder Scott Cully do what he does best—carve awesomely large pumpkins.

  • Be sure to bring your flashlights! The Spooky Nature Trail will be open Friday, Oct 28 and Saturday, Oct. 29 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

  • New London transforms into Halloween Town on Friday, Oct. 28 from 6 to 10 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 29 from 3 to 10 p.m. Most events are free!

  • Don’t miss the costume contest, live music, fall-themed crafts and more! Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29.

  • The party goes down at 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29 in the Grand Pequot Ballroom. Tickets are $35 per person. Be sure to dress your best—there’s $5,000 worth of prizes to take home in the costume contest!
