Video: Boston Needs a Home

Pit-bull mix has tons of energy and is very smart

Boston needs a home.

Chris Martel, the Montville animal control officer, says the year-old pit-bull mix has been in the shelter for about a month.

And while he’s doing OK in the shelter, he’d be happier in a home.

Boston is a strong, athletic male. He weighs about 70 pounds, and it is all muscle.

Martel says he’d do best with someone who has time and energy to exercise him – a runner, perhaps, or someone interested in doing ability.

A fenced yard would be great, she says. Small children, small dogs and cats probably are not a good idea if you’re thinking of adopting Boston.

He’s strong and energetic, Martel says, and while he has a sweet disposition, he could easily overpower a small dog, or knock a small child down, even while meaning no harm.

He’s not a big eater, Martell says, nor is he destructive.

“He’s very smart,” she says, adding that he will be even smarter when he’s neutered.

She is hoping to collect enough in donations to have him neutered before he leaves the shelter.
