It's springtime, and for lots of families, that means getting outside more. For many families, spring is a great time to think about getting a puppy.

It's easier to house train a pup in the summer, easier to walk him, and way more fun to play outside.

But is a dog the right pet to start with? And if so, is a puppy the best choice, or a full-grown dog? Or maybe you're the kind of family that would prefer a cat. Is there a difference in how old a child should be before you get a cat, or before you get a dog?
