Daily Five: Montville High's Newest Sport

Five things to know for Wednesday, April 17, 2013.

1. Today, there is a 20 percent chance of showers before noon, with a high around 65, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight should be partly cloudy, with a low around 40, according to the service.

2. Today is an exciting day, as at 4 this afternoon the Montville High School's girls lacrosse team will play their first ever game on the high school's turf field.

Montville didn't have lacrosse before this year, and now it has one for boys and girls. Today, the team will play against the Williams School. 

3.  A big Patch shout out to Fernando Reyes, aka Fernandita, who was named Montville Youth Services' child of the month for March.

Reyes, a seventh grader, is a great role model for younger children and loves to laugh, according to Montville Youth Services' Youth Scoop. Congratulations, Fernandita!  

4. Today there is just one town meeting in Montville, which is open to the public.

This evening at 6:30, the Montville Recreation and Parks Commission meets in Montville Town Hall. There will be time for public comment at the beginning of the meeting.
