Joshua Hempsted is 335 this month and we're celebrating this Saturday, Sept. 21 with cake (of course) and a special focus on family history.
Starting at 1:30 we’re hosting two speakers who will discuss research strategies and local resources: New London City Historian Sally Ryan and Katherine Dimancescu, a Hempsted descendant who is working on a book about her quest.
You can also see the house where Joshua Hempsted lived (we're open from 1-4) and and enjoy cake and lemonade through the afternoon. $5/person or $10/family for the birthday event; regular admission for house tours. Connecticut Landmarks members free.
