Rural Fall Flare Seasons Murphy School Fundraiser

The fifth-grade class at the Dr. Charles E. Murphy School is introducing me to an event unlike any other I have frequented.

This Saturday, Dec. 3rd, I will be attending a Cow Chip Raffle. For the price of a ticket $10, you "own a square" on the field the cows graze on, and a chance that the cow will make a "pit stop" on your square. The winning square gets $500, second and third prizes are also available.

Having grown up in a small city, this kind of event is completely foreign, but I'm looking forward to it! 

I am also looking forward to competing in the chili cook-off. In all honesty my husband will be making the chili, and hopefully taking home the honors.

In addition local crafters will be selling their wares. The community is welcome to join us for this fun-filled day of crafts and competition!!!
